Abstract:
The Austrian construction business shows considerable dynamism in its performance. In 2006, the volume of construction rose by 5.5 percent in real terms, a growth rate that will slightly decelerate to about 4.5 percent in 2007. The slowdown will continue in 2008 and 2009, although the mid-term performance of the construction sector will be considerably higher than expected, at growth rates of some 3.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. The Country Report for Austria contains detailed information about the drivers in the main construction sectors underpinned by a large dataset.
