Abstract: This study uses the modified dynamic SBM (slack‐based measures) method to evaluate the wastewater treatment efficiency and sludge treatment efficiency of various province regions in China. Findings show that although the efficiency of reclaimed water and sludge disposal in China's sewage treatment industry continued to increase, it was still insufficient, meaning this industry has a lot of room for improvement here. From the regional perspective, the treatment efficiency of reclaimed water and sludge in this industry in the eastern region is the best, whereas the performances in the western region are better than those in the central region.
