Simulation: The forgotten tool of TQM

Kambiz Tabibzadeh and Terri Friel

Systems Engineering, 1999, vol. 2, issue 4, 237-241

Abstract: While examples of the successful use of simulation in activities that are relevant to or can be part of a TQM program and process improvement programs exist, its potential in integrated system‐wide TQM and process improvement applications is often overlooked. Integration of simulation as a system‐wide tool will lead to significant improvements in TQM and process improvement efforts. This paper describes several cases in which simulation has been used in TQM‐related projects to significantly improve the results. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Syst Eng 2: 237–241, 1999
