Forest and Temperature Associations of Russia Relating to Global Climate Warming

V. Stolbovoi and S. Nilsson

Working Papers from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis

Abstract: We have developed forest and temperature associations for Russia that relate forest communities of Russia with mean annual temperature, standard deviation of mean annual temperature, and temperature tolerance limits. These associations are derived from analysis of the frequency of forest occurrence in different temperature regimes, and were interpreted in order to develop a framework for adaptation strategies for Global Climate Warming (GCW).
