Abstract: Hydroxyapatite coatings on metallic surfaces of orthopedic interest are achieved, with a chemical bond metal–hydroxyapatite established by the chemical process known as functionalizing. Two different functionalizing agents were used and the pH of the solutions was varied. Results show that crystal size and morphology depend on pH.
