How Likely Is All This to Unfold?

Chapter 16 in The Next Industrial Revolution:A New Age for Innovation in Industry, 2023, pp 317-335 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
It is now time to approach the critical question I posed at the end of the previous chapter. After this long review of all the innovations that could materialize in a variety of industrial sectors, we now need to ask ourselves if all of this will ultimately happen, and if so, at which pace. In short, what is the likelihood of this unfolding (as the title of this chapter suggests)? To quote Jules Verne, we are entering the dangerous territory of the unknown (one that is vast), where every abrupt assertion may become prey to a significant challenge, as opinions here will matter and are always some-what subjective.
