Abstract:
Dear David,I enjoy looking at charts of stock prices. Usually, if I look hard enough, I begin to see things. You know, the sort of price patterns that gets chartists all worked up. “Heads and shoulders”, “double bottoms”, “wedges”, “flags” and “triangles” are but a few of the price formations I routinely come across. If I were a chartist, I would respectfully regard every price formation as a revelation of where the stock price will be heading in the days or weeks ahead. But I’m not a chartist and I’m going to tell you why.
