Philip C Zerrillo, Havovi Joshi and Pannapachr Itthiopassagul

Chapter 3 in Start-up Thailand:The Entrepreneurs' Journey, 2020, pp 23-38 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: With first generation companies, their struggles and successes always make for fascinating reading. The transition to a second generation is not necessarily straightforward. And nor is it an easy path. Take growth, for example, the need to do different things differently and still continue to blaze trails. Patcharapan Vanadurongwan, the chief operating officer of Vichaivej International Hospital Group, explains how the small clinic started by her parents thirty years ago expanded successfully to a publicly-listed international hospital group, elaborating on the changes in ownership and succession planning that were needed to secure the futures of her generation and the generations that will follow.
