Abstract: This chapter focuses on integrated project delivery (IPD) within the construction industry through presenting and studying various contractual related concepts including integrated delivery, partnering, and relational contracting. To this end, this chapter defines IPD and discusses the reasons contributing to its evolvement and popularity. Moreover, this chapter compares IPD to other traditional contracting methods as well as highlights its benefits to the construction process and its stakeholders. This chapter also presents the barriers and challenges associated with the implementation of IPD. Furthermore, this chapter examines how the integrated delivery is incorporated in nationally and internationally standard forms of construction contracts. Finally, this chapter offers insightful discussions and concluding remarks on IPD.
