Abstract:
Agility and agile transformation have likely overtaken innovation as the most abused and least practised buzzword in business today. Why agility is misunderstood and mangled is a bit of a mystery. For starters, many people still believe agility is a method. Agility is an actionable way of referring to strategy and culture rooted in the Agile Manifesto. In only 68 words, it delineates the principles for effective software development. These principles have since become general guidelines for a new way of work. The ideas contained in it are absolutely valid beyond the field of software. But like many things that have been excessively glorified, the hype typically distracts attention away from the original idea, in pursuit of commercialising it in the most rigorous manner…
