Abstract: Mergers and acquisitions are business transaction that if occur they have a pervasive effect both to the seller and the buyer and they can derive in substantial benefits or failures. The chapter aims to approach mergers and acquisitions in a spherical way, synthesizing business reasons driving to M&As, the risks, the challenges, the financial aspects and the accounting treatment based on the IFRS’s.
