Chapter 13 in The Vietnamese Economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, 2026, pp 309-373 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Vietnam’s digital economy and digital society have experienced rapid growth in recent years, driven by strong telecommunications and IT infrastructure, widespread technology adoption, and a young, techsavvy workforce. The country’s strategic position in Southeast Asia and government initiatives further support digital transformation. However, significant challenges remain, including legal and institutional barriers, regulatory gaps, and concerns about data protection and digital identity. Addressing these issues is crucial for sustainable digital economic development, fostering entrepreneurship, and ensuring inclusive growth.
