Abstract: When I first invited Professor Yair Aharoni to join my AIB2020 panel, Internationalization of State-owned Firms, last November, I did not have much hope since it takes 10 hours on a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Vancouver, where the conference was originally going to be held. The transcontinental flight will make average people think twice before saying “yes” to a one-hour panel discussion, let alone an 89-year-old. Surprisingly, without much delay, Professor Aharoni sent me a brief reply in which he wrote: “In principle, I will be glad to do it”. His generosity went beyond anything I had expected…
