Chapter 9 in Knowledge Management:Through the Technology Glass, 2005, pp 141-152 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter examines user acceptance of technology for knowledge sharing purposes in an organisation from the higher education sector. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis of data point to a low level of technology acceptance for knowledge sharing. People perceived technology as somewhat useful in supporting connectivity and collaboration, but not in idea exchange. They also perceived the technology as hard to use, felt discouraged, and tended to avoid using it. The chapter suggests a series of plausible actions to increase acceptance.
