Abstract: Agriculture is unique in the sense that it is both one of the causes of and one of the sectors most at risk from climate change. The deforestation that results from agricultural expansion, the CO2 released in the production and transportation of crops, and the methane emissions from livestock all contribute to climate change. Agriculture is also responsible for 70% of global water consumption. But changes in weather patterns, increased droughts in some parts of the world, and the subsequent consequences to water availability all threaten food production…
