Anand Mahindra
Chapter 6 in Power Talk:Insights from Asia's Leading Entrepreneurs, 2018, pp 53-56 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Anand Mahindra was appointed to the top executive post in one of India’s leading industrial houses in 1997, some 16 years after he took on an obscure position as Executive Assistant to the Finance Director in one of the Group’s businesses, Mahindra Ugine Steel. Finding his fit in the conglomerate entailed breakthroughs and breakdowns. While he was celebrated as the man behind the iconic Indian sports utility vehicle, the Scorpio, he had also nearly lost his life for introducing unpopular measures in a plant.
