Chapter 21 in Managing Knowledge for Global and Collaborative Innovations, 2009, pp 269-282 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: AbstractBased on the analysis of research groups in higher education in the UK, this paper investigated the relationship between social capital and the performance of those research groups. The study produced a model that considered the different dimensions of social capital and how these dimensions might have an impact on the performance of R&D in the HEI in the UK. The result from the regression analysis shows that trust has the strongest influence towards explaining the R&D performance.
