Currency Internationalization
Ruogu Li
Chapter 18 in Reform of the International Monetary System and Internationalization of the Renminbi, 2015, pp 227-234 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
While the international circulation of a currency is not new, study on the internationalization of currencies was fairly recent. After the 1960s, with the beginning of the internationalization of the Japanese yen and the success of European currency integration, more scholars started to study the internationalization of currencies. This chapter briefly discusses what the internationalization of currencies is about.
