Abstract:
This research considers the effect of regional industrial agglomeration on economic development from a scientific and theoretical point of view. The authors developed a basic measurement model using relevant data for 14 economic regions of Uzbekistan in 2005–2023. Based on this model, the authors calculated the industrial conditional agglomeration index for all economic regions. The authors determined the impact of changes in the agglomeration index on the gross regional product volume of economic regions based on the hidden effect model. The influence of the established agglomeration index on the regional development of Uzbekistan was evaluated. According to the evaluation results, the authors determined the economic impact of industrial agglomerations on regional economic development in the highest and the lowest economic regions. Scientific proposals and practical recommendations were developed to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of regions and increase the efficiency and benefits of industrial agglomeration. As efforts are made to establish an efficient industrial structure, business expectations will rise. Less competitive firms will be weeded out, while those that maintain high standards will thrive. The benefits of enterprise clustering become increasingly evident in terms of regional economic growth.
