Abstract:
This chapter is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of Shariah-compliant equities and Islamic equities markets. Beginning with an explanation of alternative Shariah screening techniques, the components of an Islamic equities market are analyzed. The differences between these components and their conventional counterparts are examined. On completing this chapter, you should have a good understanding of the philosophy underlying Shariah screening techniques for stocks, the different components of the Islamic equities market, and how they differ from conventional ones.
