Abstract: Previous chapters have focused on applying finance theory to the two main pillars of finance: (i) valuation (of bonds, shares, etc.) and (ii) the construction of investment portfolios, partly with a view to calculating the cost of capital. At the time of writing, it seems unlikely that finance theory will develop entirely new themes or theories, rather than develop and enrich what is already in place. However, the application of new developments in technology to finance theory and practice is inevitable. In what follows consideration is given to existing new developments: fintech!
