Zur Revision des BIP in Irland

Abstract: Das irische Amt für Statistik (Central Statistics Office, CSO) hat am 12. Juli 2016 das Bruttoinlandsprodukt Irlands deutlich nach oben revidiert. Demnach ist die irische Wirtschaft im Jahr 2015 nicht - wie bisher angegeben - um 7,8 Prozent expandiert, sondern um spektakuläre 26,3 Prozent. Auch die Rate für das Jahr 2014 wurde von 5,2 Prozent auf 8,4 Prozent deutlich nach oben revidiert. Besonders auffällig ist das erste Quartal 2015, in dem für Irland nun eine Expansionsrate von 21,4 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorquartal ausgewiesen wird. Kennzahlen, die im Verhältnis zur Wirtschaftsleistung ausgedrückt werden, haben sich dadurch sprichwörtlich "über Nacht" verändert - beispielsweise ist die Bruttoschuldenquote für das Jahr 2015 durch die Revision von 94 Prozent auf rund 79 Prozent in Relation zur Wirtschaftsleistung gefallen.
