Abstract:
Rather than treating collaboration and method as a background detail, it foregrounds the innovative, often messy, and reflexive practices through which interdisciplinary research on public interest cybersecurity, privacy, and digital rights is carried out. By treating "craft" as an object of analysis, this collection illuminates the dynamics of partnership and translation that shape the social and political impact of this work. Our main argument is that by opening the craft of interdisciplinary method to more explicit scrutiny, this collection provides a novel space to examine how knowledge in these domains is made, contested, and reshaped. While it does not claim to resolve the monumental, planetary wickedness of contemporary governance challenges, it does seek to equip scholars, practitioners, and policymakers with deeper insights into the strategies that favour more effective responses.
