Abstract: Die Unternehmensverflechtung durch Direktinvestitionen hat in der EU eine erhebliche Größenordnung erreicht. Die bilaterale Wirtschaftsverflechtung wird teilweise schon stärker durch Auslandsproduktion als durch Außenhandel geprägt. Inwieweit bringt die Auslandsproduktion deutscher Unternehmen die produktivitätsfördernde Arbeitsteilung zwischen Deutschland und den Partnerländern voran?
