Abstract:
Citation is often treated as a purely technical exercise focused on identifying the most relevant contributions to a given topic. However, citation choices also carry social, political, and ethical dimensions that directly influence the visibility of researchers, scientific communities, and countries. In this context, it is essential to reflect on the responsibility of Brazilian researchers to recognize and incorporate national scientific output into their work.
