Abstract:
The material presents the results of the discourse analysis of the representation of science and scientific issues by the statements of young people (students living in St. Petersburg, 53 people); identified their motives and contexts of participation in research activities; considered places and centres of science attractive for young people in St. Petersburg. There is a problematization of dialogue and interaction between the city and science. The study of relevant to the city as a world heritage site questions commenced: How is the attitude to science correlated with the identity of St Petersburg citizen? How are innovative projects woven into the structure of the city? How do they coexist in the context of the monuments and the world heritage site’ values? How is scientific discourse woven into the urban architecture, urban landscape?
