The characteristic of the heuristic potential of the main methodological provisions of the analyzed concept is given. The problems, the solution of which is beyond the scope of the theory of economic systems of G.B. Kleiner are identified and the author’s version of typology of socio-economic systems aimed at a solution of these problems is proposed. It is accentuated the attention to the similarities and differences of recommendations for economic policy, followed from the two versions of the systematization of economic systems - the model proposed by G.B. Kleiner and the model developed by the authors.
