Abstract: The article presents the concept of collective enterprise (self-managed firm) and the principles of functioning of such organizations. The arguments of supporters and opponents of collective management are reviewed. It is noted that collective enterprises can solve such problems as an imbalance of interests of various participants in the proceedings and authoritarianism at the microeconomic level. Employees of collective enterprises demonstrate a higher level of involving in management processes. The main feature of the collective enterprise is not only the participation of employees in the company's capital, but also the real economic power of the labor collective. It requires qualitative corporate culture where the involvement of employees in management and business processes is very high.
