Economia Agraria y Recursos Naturales, 2020, vol. 19, issue 02

Abstract: This paper analyzes the impact on the population dynamics of the different European Initiatives LEADER for rural development in the Valencian Community. This relationship is studied through the analysis of indicators related to public investment and tourism offer in those regions where investment projects have been implemented in the different programming periods. It has been investigated the existence of similar trends between the evolution over time of these indicators and the population, and although the series presents similar behaviors, there is no evidence enough to affirm that tourist investment in small rural municipalities of the Valencian Region has had a positive impact on the population evolution.
