Lehet-e a mezőgazdaság a gazdasági növekedés motorja? A kelet-közép-európai országok tapasztalatai

Abstract: A cikk 1990 és 2011 közötti adatokat felhasználva vizsgálja meg annak eshetőségét, hogy lehet-e a mezőgazdaság a gazdasági növekedés motorja a kelet-közép-európai országokban. Számításaink nem tudták igazolni, hogy a mezőgazdaság hozzájárult volna a gazdasági növekedéshez, ugyanakkor a fordított irányú kapcsolat nem utasítható el, azaz a gazdasági növekedés húzóerőt jelenthet a mezőgazdaság számára. Eredményeink általánosításának két korlátja van: egyrészt a korábbi kutatásokhoz képest rövidebb időszakot vizsgáltunk, másrészt további változók bevonása szükséges a mezőgazdaság szerepének jobb megértéséhez a gazdasági fejlődésben. = The aim of the paper is to analyse whether agriculture can an engine for economic growth in Central and Eastern European countries using data for period between 1990 and 2011. Our calculations do not support the positive contribution of agricul-ture to economic growth. However, we can not reject the opposite causal direction, namely economic growth has positive impact on the agriculture. Interpretation of results has two serious limitations. First, period in question is shorter than previous research. Second, it should be introduced additional variables into analysis to better understanding of agriculture in economic development.
