If the farmers get the affortable prices for their crops, they take more interest in farming. In this research paper is an attempt to analyse the awareness level about MSP among the farming community in Gujarat. The data used in the analyses were collected from the field survey over the different agro-ecological zones in Gujarat state. The primary data were collected from randomly selected 800 farmers from 20 village of Gujarat. The research study shows that majority of farmers still neither aware about MSP therefore not getting reasonable benefits. The study proves that the MSP could have positive impacts on farmer income levels. The farmers, due to various factors, end up selling their produce at prices below MSP, which either mean losses or very low profits. Thus, it is imperative to link MSP and farmers most realistically. There is a need to raise awareness levels on MSP among farmers and explaining them on how it works to their benefit.
