Abstract: At present, there is a great deal of interest in developing technology towards the use of natural fibre materials in cement composites. Natural fibre are present in relatively large quantities all over the world and developing countries are producing natural vegetable fibres. Fibres such as those from coconut, bamboo, wood cellulose, wood chips, leaves, barks, seed and fruits have been used in sand-based cement products. Fibres can be divided in to two categories; i.,e. natural and man-made. The advantages of using natural fibres are that the materials are readily available, inexpensive and eco-friendly.
