Impact of Rice Prices and Production on Rice Export of Maharashtra

Abstract: Rice is the most common crop in Maharashtra, the Konkan region is its climatic and rainfall ideal zone, supporting the production of rice. It is one of the staple foods and crucial export commodities in countries such as India. Rice is cultivated in 32 districts of Maharashtra. In the 2023 financial year, Maharashtra produced nearly four million metric tons of rice. Though there is enough area under production and produce still Maharashtra is lacking in the sustenance of agricultural marketing of rice. The study aims to sustain agricultural marketing through rice export from Maharashtra by analyzing how prices and production are affecting the export of rice and to see the long-term relation between rice price, production, and export volume through Engel Granger co-integration analysis. For the time of seven years. From the analysis researched have got the results that rice prices and production are significant factors influencing rice exports in Maharashtra and they have long-term relations between them.
