Journal of Agribusiness and Rural Development, 2016, vol. 39, issue 01

Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the concept of entrepreneurship and innovation as factors determining the competitiveness of agritourism enterprises. The paper quoted information from the literature review. Innovation has an important infl uence on the development of the tourism sector. Innovation in the fi eld of tourism has become, in recent years, the subject of increasing interest, of both researchers and practitioners in the tourism economy. This is due to a constant search of new trends in tourism, both by companies specializing in tourism and society. The introduction of innovation in tourism, however, is a complex and multi-faceted process, because it is not only the modifi cation of the product, but also new types of tourism activities, or adaptation to the conditions for sustainable development. It may be noticed that currently discoveries in the fi eld of innovation in tourism are made. Very rarely this is because innovation is the result of systematic, often very expensive research, which requires a combination of the entire team representing the tourism industry professionals. The main aim of innovation in tourism businesses is striving to achieve a competitive advantage in the market. Mutual co-operation determines improvement of the competitiveness of tourism. It is said that the co-operation enables the development of individual entities. It establishes the result of access to specialized producing factors.
