Abstract:
The presented article addresses the issues of social justice and spatial justice, recalls the origins of these concepts and discusses their dialectics and the role they play in shaping regional and rural development policies. It is specified that a community is spatially just when all its parts respect the rights of individual members. The development of rural areas taking into account social and spatial justice should be associated with respect for basic human rights, promote inclusive activities in these areas aimed at reducing economic inequalities and social polarization, which are the result of neoliberal transformations. Referring to the specificity of the Ukrainian local government reform, an attempt is made to determine the areas of shaping (in)justice, which is to enable further development of mechanisms for equalizing local development processes.
