There is no longer a village that can be renovated

Village and Agriculture (Wieś i Rolnictwo), 2023, vol. 200, issue 3
Abstract:
Village renewal has played a very important role in Poland, revitalizing the countryside in many dimensions: social, cultural and economic. It seems that the potential of this concept is being exhausted, and not only because the idea of "village renewal" is being used up, but rather because of the disappearance of rurality itself in the traditional formula. A new rurality is being created, and smart villages can play a positive role in this process of fuller release of the potential of rural areas. New communication technologies, the Internet, and digitalization are a chance for a renaissance of rurality in an innovative form.
