Talento territorial en el cambio de la matriz productiva agroalimentaria

Juan Carlos Delgado Barrios

Agroalimentaria Journal - Revista Agroalimentaria, 2021, vol. 27, issue 52

Abstract: By now, huge sectors of the planet are developing highly efficient agricultural production models, based on spaces driven by territorial development, science applied to agriculture and highly qualified human resources, substantially improving the quality of life of local societies. This publication is the result of a broader research on the territorial talent developed by the author, which starts from defining the territory and territorial development as contexts of the object of study focused on changing the productive matrix from the territorial talent approach. The main objective of this research was to study territorial talent, argued in the development of a theoretical reflective analysis as a basis for the design of a strategy to manage the change of the productive matrix, from a primary agriculture to a matrix, in a particular geographical area located at South of Maracaibo Lake (Sur del Lago region, Venezuela). This area, despite having extraordinary agro-ecological and water potential, has also low levels of development and economic growth. This paradox is due to deficiencies in territorial talent, which was established as a research hypothesis. To this end, documentary and explanatory analytical methodologies were used, and the results of the research are expressed in the traits of the change of the relevant agri-food production matrix, within a territorial development strategy for the geographical area, in with an emphasis on the behavior of local actors viewed from the perspective of territorial talent. Finally, in order to overcome the stagnation already customary in the area under study, it is recommended adopting a strategy for the management of territorial talent development networks, aimed at overcoming the social, economic and political inequalities that its population suffers from the low level of territorial talent.
