Hambre y hambrunas: una interpretación contemporánea

Ángel G. Hernández G. and Katty Marisabel Díaz Morales

Agroalimentaria Journal - Revista Agroalimentaria, 2020, vol. 26, issue 50

Abstract: The world of development and the search for governance are experiencing a renewed interest in the behavioral sciences, as well as in the case of perspectives of interdisciplinary and systemic studies. The aim of this research is to analyze hunger and famine from the perspective of Sen’s Capability Approach and suggest guidelines to improve the formulation and execution of public policies in democratic regimes, based on behavioral and epigenetic sciences. Changing the ways of approaching and executing public policies, with an orientation like this proposed, can favor social investments by expanding and modifying individual and collective capacities, including that of political experts and institutions, involved in the bi-factorial agency of development initiatives.
