Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the halal entrepreneurial intention of university students in Bangladesh. The study employed the Theory of Planned Behavior to explore how the attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control of university students influence their intention towards halalpreneurship. A cross-sectional study was conducted to collect primary data from 234 respondents using a 19-item 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to measure validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing. The results indicated a strong positive relationship between attitudes, perceived behavioral control, and halalpreneurial intention, where subjective norms highlighted a statistically insignificant relationship with halalpreneurial intentions, which identified contextual findings not similar to most studies. The findings of this study have added a new dimension to the current literature and created avenues for further study and insights for the policy makers while empowering halalpreneurship in Bangladesh.
