Abstract:
Finalizing the process of European monetary integration in the euro area is an important condition for strengthening the single currency. The current crisis has shown that EU members that are not in the euro area were exposed mainly due to the floating of exchange rate of currencies against the euro. It is natural then that candidate country to want to join the Euro zone as soon as possible. Therefore, we proposed ourselves to analyze in this paper the importance of adhering to the Euro zone of the new member states by emphasizing their stage of convergence and the effects of the global crisis on their economies.
