Abstract:
Due to the decrease in economic growth, financial stability and employment, the need to reform the public pension systems has increased. In Central and Eastern Europe the pension reform was necessary due to the manifestation of such phenomena as: aging, increasingly low ability to collect duties and taxes, and the migration of the population. This study is a comparative analysis of the pension systems in Romania and Hungary and of the most notable reforms made over time in the two countries in the pensions field.
