Abstract:
Assessment of financial performance of a company aims at highlighting the economic potential and its financial capacity to generate future cash flow. To support the granting of a loan any commercial banking institution goes through several steps of the formal and informal analysis of the applicant. Within the analysis takes into account a system of indicators charactering the last and future performance of the company. The paper presents the steps taken by a commercial bank in the lending process with customizing the system of indicators used by Raiffeisen Bank in characterizing the financial performance of businesses ranging from small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
