Abstract:
More than one third of the total EU budget is spent on the so-called Cohesion Policy through the Structural Funds. Its main purpose is to reduce disparities between EU regions and promote economic growth and convergence. Consequently, the process of convergence of regions and, implicitly, the need to assess the impact of absorption of structural funds on the economy is a matter of great importance. Absorption of structural and cohesion funds is one of the zero-degree priorities of public administration, business, farmers and non-governmental organizations.
