Abstract: Performance management of employees is a significant function of modern human resource management practices. This paper tried to measure the effectiveness of the performance management system (PMS) of some selected Readymade Garment (RMG) factories with the aim to develop a tailored PMS for the management employees. Opinions of 266 employees were considered in this study and one-sample "t-test” was used to test twenty-four hypotheses developed through an extensive literature review. The study found efficiency of the RMGs in attaining the projected outcome of PMS. This paper is one of the pioneers in regards to RMG sector of Bangladesh and the research outcome of which will contribute to enriching the existing body of knowledge of employee performance management in this sector.
