Abstract: Economic integration is one of the most common trends in the contemporary world economy. The spread of this phenomenon is proved by the fact that it is difficult to identify one country which would not be a member of at least one integration group. The article shows the evolution of regionalism and World Trade Organization legislation regulating the formation and functioning of trade agreements.
