Efetividade do Instrumento Antidumping no Brasil entre 1990 e 2007

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of anti-dumping instrument in Brazil two aspects: the relationship between antidumping filings and macroeconomic factors; and the effects of macroeconomic variables and industry size on the likelihood of petitioner law enforcement antidumping. The results showed that macroeconomic variables have no effect on the number of antidumping filings for the Brazilian economy from 1990 to 2007. Moreover, result supports the hypothesis that adverse scenarios in the national economy and the specific characteristics of sectors petitioners for the increased probability of conclude by the application of antidumping law, reducing its effectiveness.
