Abstract:
As long as we as a society condone smoking, young people will at least try the habit. Because of the fact that smoking is apparently a satisfying experience to some youths, they will continue the habit into adulthood. It is for the sake of those who cannot be reached by anti-smoking messages that work in the area of low yield cigarettes needs to be continued, especially since epidemiological studies have shown a reduction of risk for lung cancer among smokers of low yield cigarettes and since a similar reduction of risk has been suggested for myocardial infarction.
