Abstract: This study evaluates the satisfaction levels of trainees with vocational training and skills acquisition in vocational training centers across Tana River County, Kenya. The primary aim is to assess how effectively these centers meet the training needs of their students and prepare them for the workforce. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with a sample of trainees from various vocational programs, including tailoring, carpentry, electrical installation, and masonry. The results indicate varying levels of satisfaction among trainees, with positive feedback primarily related to the practical skills gained during training. However, challenges such as inadequate training materials, limited resources, and insufficient career placement support were highlighted as areas needing improvement. Trainees also expressed concerns about the relevance of certain curricula to current job market demands. The findings underscore the importance of enhancing training content, improving resource allocation, and strengthening job placement services to ensure that vocational programs better equip trainees for employment opportunities. The study concludes by offering recommendations for improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational training in Tana River County. These include updating curricula to align with industry standards, investing in trainer professional development, and expanding support services for career guidance and job placement. The insights provided by this research aim to contribute to the development of vocational education policies that will enhance the employability and economic empowerment of youth in the region.
