Abstract: Many small and medium-sized organizations show interest in establishing an enterprise-wide project management office for better project support and organizing project management practices. Implementing an enterprise project management office in project-based organizations affects aspects of organizational performance and provides the ability to achieve goals and objectives. Therefore evaluating the effectiveness of EPMO is undeniably necessary and it`s credibility within an organization is strongly related to its contribution to the overall organizational performance that can be measured by using organizational performance evaluation models. In this case study research an approach is offered to evaluate the balanced effectiveness of enterprise project management office. First, the study conducts an in-depth literature review on Project Management Office. Then the mission of EPMO in the case study company and its strategy map is determined by brain storming to experts. The strategy map provides an holistic view on the goals of EPMO and their relations in organizational context. Also, the assessment framework can be used to assess the level of EPMO effectiveness with 16 weighted indicators. The results of this research provide organizations with useful guidelines to identify its strengths and weaknesses of EPMO and improve its performance.
