Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of organizational politics on employee performance in a public bank in Tehran. The research method in this field study was descriptive and applied. Statistical population consisted of employees of Bank Melli branches in Tehran. Data were collected from a sample of 205 employees. The sample was picked through systematic random sampling and the data were collected by using a questionnaire. Chronbach’s alpha for the variables was higher than 0.7. SPSS 11.5 was used to analyze the data. The data were analyzed by using the T-Student Test and hierarchical regression analysis. Results show that the mean of political behavior is 3/78 out of 6. Also, organizational politics has no effect on employee performance; however, after controlling clarity, feedback, and organizational support (elements of ACHIEVE model), the effects become apparent.
